Errata, Corrections and Retractions

The journal is committed to scientific integrity and transparency in the communication of research results. Therefore, it reserves the right to issue corrections, retractions, or withdraw published articles whenever errors, omissions, or behaviors that compromise the validity of the content are identified. Depending on the situation, the measures may include:

Correction (erratum)

• Applied when minor errors are identified that do not compromise the integrity of the results or conclusions.

• Includes adjustments such as author names, affiliations, contact information, bibliographic references, or small inaccuracies in the text.

• The correction is published transparently, linked to the original article, ensuring that readers are fully informed about the changes.

Retraction

• Applied in cases of serious errors, scientific misconduct, or invalid results, including plagiarism, fabrication or falsification of data, or conclusions that cannot be supported by the presented results.

• The retracted article remains accessible but is clearly marked as retracted, preserving the scientific record and informing readers of the situation.

Withdrawal

• Reserved for extreme situations, such as court orders, copyright violations, or the accidental publication of material that may pose ethical, legal, or safety risks.

• Withdrawal removes the article from public access, but the decision and its motivations are documented internally to ensure traceability and editorial accountability.
  These practices ensure that the journal operates ethically, transparently, and responsibly, safeguarding the scientific value of its publications and the trust of the academic community.

Right to Appeal
Authors have the right to submit a reasoned appeal against editorial decisions if they disagree with the evaluation or judgment received. The appeal must be sent to biodiversidade.brasileira@icmbio.gov.br
